Beetroot increases Nitric Oxide Control High BP: According to the World Health Organization, 1.28 billion people between the ages of 30 and 79 are suffering from high blood pressure or hypertension. Among these, the number of high blood pressure patients is highest in poor and developing countries. The matter of concern is that out of these 70 crore people do not even know that they have high BP. For this reason, they do not even get treatment. This is the reason that suddenly the incidence of heart attack or heart failure has started increasing in people. However, high blood pressure is such a disease that if lifestyle is corrected or medicine is started, then the possibility of any untoward incident due to high BP can be avoided. Lifestyle includes regular exercise and a healthy diet. According to a study, if beetroot is consumed regularly, there will be no problem of high blood pressure and even if it is there, it will be controlled very quickly.
Nitric oxide increased by 21 percent in 45 minutes
According to the news of Healthline, dietary nitrates remain in beetroot. That is, it is easily digested in the stomach and immediately goes into the blood. It is converted into nitric oxide in the blood. Nitric oxide controls high blood pressure very quickly. According to the study, in an experiment conducted on some people, it was found that when these people were fed beetroot juice, the amount of nitric oxide increased by 21 percent within 45 minutes. According to another study published in the same PubMed journal, drinking 100 ml of beetroot juice immediately increased the level of nitric oxide. The reason for the immediate increase in nitric oxide after drinking beetroot juice is that it contains dietary nitrate. Dietary nitrate is very beneficial for humans. Many other benefits of beetroot came to the fore in the study. Consuming beetroot also increases cognitive ability.
How does nitric oxide work
Nitric oxide is made naturally in the body. When we eat something, many types of nutrients and chemicals are made from them. After eating beetroot, it gets absorbed rapidly and makes nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is very important for blood vessels. Nitric oxide is a vasodilator, which means it relaxes the inner muscles of the blood vessels. Due to this, the blood vessels become wide and the flow of blood becomes faster. That's why nitric oxide reduces blood pressure.
