Health Tips: Pranayama (Pranayama Benefits) is a Sanskrit word, which is made up of two words. Prana means breath and ayama means control. These days Pranayam is formed by combining words. For good health, it is mandatory to include Pranayam in life. Pranayama makes us mentally strong and also provides relief from many physical diseases. In conversation with Local 18, Gokul Bisht, yoga trainer of Sadhak Yogshala located in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, tells that Pranayama is a method in which we increase the dimension of prana. With its help, control over our life increases, due to which we get physical as well as mental benefits. According to yoga texts, pranayama is explained after yoga asanas.
Right time to do Pranayam
Gokul explains that according to yoga texts, pranayama can be done in the morning and evening because the level of our prana is higher at that time. Whereas doing Pranayama in the morning gives more benefits. Also, this should be done after yoga.
Benefits of Pranayama
He further explains that there are many benefits of doing pranayam. Mainly it strengthens our immune system. Also, every pranayam has different benefits. Pranayama strengthens our lungs, which prevents asthma and difficulty in breathing etc. By doing this, hormones remain balanced, stress also reduces and digestion power gets improved. Pranayama is a panacea for patients suffering from asthma, blood pressure and diabetes.
