Private Ward in Aiims Charges: In All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi, patients coming from any corner of the country are treated free of cost or at very low cost. Due to free treatment, this country's largest hospital equipped with all facilities is crowded with patients, and more patients than the capacity of the hospital reach here daily for treatment. In such a situation, many times not only the attendant accompanying the patient, but the patients themselves are also seen taking treatment lying on the stretcher due to lack of beds, but do you know that there is a private ward for the patients in this AIIMS hospital working on government lines. Or the facility of a private room is also available.

There are two types of treatment in AIIMS. Those patients are kept in general wards who cannot spend money for treatment and their complete treatment is done free of cost. If the patient is admitted to the general ward, then he has to spend only on the equipment used in the operation etc. Everything else, from food to treatment, is free.

But in another way, treatment is done in AIIMS on the lines of private ward or private room. This facility is for those patients who can spend money on treatment. In these wards, the patient has to pay for many items. However, the special thing is that these private rooms of AIIMS are equipped with better facilities than the wards of any private hospital, they are also cheaper.

How many private wards are there in AIIMS?

There are a total of 3194 beds in AIIMS Delhi. Of these, the number of private wards or private beds is 288. While the total beds in the general category are 2906. Since most of the people come here only for free treatment, there is a fight for recruitment in general wards and long dates are available, but this is rarely seen in private wards.

In the information given by AIIMS, in which patients can take private beds, it was told that any patient who wants to spend money for treatment in AIIMS can take a private ward in the hospital. Its process is also very easy. Whenever the patient is admitted, one has to speak for the private room there.

How much is the cost?

There are two types of private rooms available in AIIMS. Deluxe means A class and B class. Last year itself, the AIIMS administration increased the charges for private rooms in both classes. In such a situation, now for A class i.e. deluxe ward, Rs 6 thousand per day and Rs 3 thousand per day for B classroom will have to be charged. Along with this, a diet charge of Rs 300 will also have to be paid.

There is a rule to deposit 10 days in advance

According to AIIMS management, all the patients who want to take private ward, have to deposit 10 days advance charge together. In such a situation, if a patient takes a private ward, then he will have to deposit Rs 63,000 for A class and Rs 33,000 for B class, including ward and diet charges. However, if the patient is admitted for less than 10 days, then the remaining money is returned to him.

However, treatment cannot be done by coming directly to the private ward of AIIMS like private hospitals. For this, the entire admission process of AIIMS has to be followed. The bed can be chosen from general or private according to the ability to bear the expenses.
