An injection to control bad cholesterol is going to come in the Indian market soon. Its name is Inclisiran. Actually, this injection got approval in the US and UK two years ago and now it is going to be available in the Indian market in a few weeks. It is believed that this injection will reduce the risk of serious diseases like heart attack and heart stroke.

What does the survey say?
According to a survey conducted by the National Diagnostic Chain, dyslipidemia or high cholesterol levels have been found in 70 percent of the people. At the same time, one third of all deaths are due to heart diseases. In metropolitan cities like Mumbai and Delhi, 50 deaths occur every day due to stress and pollution.

Senior Cardiologist Dr. Ajeet Menon told Times of India that the dose of Inclisiran injection blocks a protein called PCSK9 and helps the liver in reducing the level of bad cholesterol in the blood. Similarly, the level of bad cholesterol in the body reduces and the risk of heart diseases decreases. Along with this he said that Inclisiran is not for all heart patients. This will be good for those who do not get relief from statins or those who cannot tolerate them.
How much will Inclisiran cost?
According to a Times of India report, the cost of two dose therapy in the US is around Rs 5 lakh. However, the price per dose in India can be between Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh. These injections will be given twice a year i.e. every 6 months.
