To test the importance of magnesium, researchers conducted tests on some patients in the hospital. After testing, it was found that among the people who came to the hospital for treatment for heart-related diseases, 42 percent of the patients had magnesium deficiency, while 52 percent of the patients admitted to the ICU had very low levels of magnesium. According to the study, blood pressure levels had increased in patients whose magnesium levels were very low.

Researchers said that in fact, magnesium is present on the inner surface of the membrane of heart cells, which keeps the arteries smooth and prevents the muscles from contracting. Analysis of some other studies also found that magnesium supplementation reduces blood pressure and protects against the risk of heart attack. For this, magnesium supplement was also given to the patients. When these patients were given magnesium supplements for four weeks, a surprising improvement was seen in their blood pressure.

To overcome magnesium deficiency, consume almonds and cashews. Along with this, magnesium is found in abundance in soybean, sesame, banana, fish, avocado, tofu, etc. Wheat and grains are also good sources of magnesium.
