Why should one drink less water?

Actually, according to experts, heart patients should not drink too much water, this reduces their risk of heart attack. And not just water, you should drink any beverage (juice, milk) in less quantity. This is because heart patients start accumulating water by drinking too much water, which causes swelling in the legs, thighs, and waist, due to which your heart may have to work harder. Not only this, the possibility of accumulation of water in the lungs also increases due to which the patient may have difficulty in breathing.

How much water should one drink?

Actually, a healthy person should drink at least 7-8 glasses. But heart patients should drink one and a half liter of water a day in winter. At least two liters of water should be drunk during the summer season. Heart patients should drink water not in one go but in part-parts. That means one should drink it in a limited interval. Drinking too much water at one go can make the heart work harder due to which the patient may face difficulty in breathing.

When does chronic dehydration occur?

If there is a continuous lack of water in the body for 6 months, then it can cause the problem of chronic hypotension. To put it simply, hypotension means low blood pressure. If there is a deficiency of water in the body between 2 to 5 percent then it is called mild dehydration. If there is more than 5 percent water loss then it will be called chronic dehydration.
