By the age of 50, it is seen to be very common to have problems with respiratory diseases, heart disease, and diabetes, these problems can be serious and even fatal.
Higher risk of bacterial pneumonia
Health experts say that people over the age of 50 are at a higher risk of developing lung-related diseases over time, pneumonia being one of them. Common cold flu can also increase the risk of this problem. About 30% of older people hospitalized for pneumonia die from it, with people over the age of 65 believed to be at higher risk of the disease because of a weakened immune system.

In the US age group 40 to 59, 6.3% of men and 5.6% of women have heart disease.
