The World Health Organization (WHO) has informed that Equatorial Guinea has reported an outbreak caused by Marburg disease. According to Equatorial Guinea, at least nine people have already died due to this virus related to Ebola. These cases are proof that the exercise to eliminate deadly viruses from the world is going to continue.

The world has already seen the havoc of Covid. From above, due to the newly emerging viruses, the tension is increasing. This is the reason why WHO has made a list of many viruses, which it considers to be worrying. This list is being prepared since 2017. There are many such viruses in it, on which research is yet to be done. It contains not one or two but 5 viruses. Let's know about them.

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever: This disease is often seen in Africa, the Balkans, the Middle East and Asia. Crimean-Congo fever occurs when humans are bitten by infected ticks (parasitic insects) or by contact with sick animals. 10 to 40 per cent of people suffering from this fever die.

Ebola and Marburg: Ebola and Marburg usually spread between humans because of bats and primates (monkey-like animals). After a person gets infected, they spread it to other people as well. The death rate due to this disease is up to 50 per cent. Vaccine for Ebola is being used in Guinea and Congo.

Lassa fever: Lassa fever spreads in humans due to the faeces and urine of rats and rodents. Right now this disease is limited to West Africa. Humans who come in contact with this disease can easily spread it to others. Its biggest victims are pregnant women. Deafness also occurs in patients due to fever.

Nipah virus: This disease spread by bats is usually seen making people its victims in Asia. This virus also spreads through horses, cats and dogs. It is also a virus that spreads from human to human. The brain of a person infected with the Nipah virus becomes inflamed. The death rate of this disease is 40-70 per cent and at present, there is no vaccine.

Zika virus: This disease, which spreads due to mosquito bites, infects the blood. Zika is usually not fatal. But it can cause serious brain defects if infected. Because of this virus, there is also a possibility of getting an abortion. Currently, there is no vaccine for this disease.

Will there be danger like Covid?
So far, not much damage has been seen due to these viruses. Most of the cases have been confined to a few countries. Where during Covid it was seen that this virus spread rapidly all over the world. But this is not the case with these viruses. They are making people their victims in only a few countries. However, due to the absence of a vaccine, these viruses can also prove to be dangerous. But will it be as dangerous as Kovid, it is too early to say
