Periods are regular
If your periods do not occur on time, then include these seeds in your diet. These seeds contain phytochemicals, which act like estrogen. This makes periods regular.
Iron deficiency goes away
Eating these seeds improves haemoglobin levels and cures anaemia. While eating it, add the juice of 1/2 lemon. Lemon contains Vitamin C, which absorbs iron well.
Good for asthma patients
These seeds reduce the symptoms of asthma and keep the lungs of people suffering from asthma healthy. Apart from this, garden cress seeds can also be used to treat bloody piles.
Beneficial for stomach-related problems
Garden cress seeds are laxative and an excellent source of fibre. Therefore, its use is very good for people suffering from constipation. To treat diarrhoea and dysentery, grind these seeds well, mix them with honey and eat them.
Makes skin glow
Garden cress seeds are not only good for health but also skin and hair. Mix these seeds with water and honey make a thick paste and apply it on the skin. It heals sunburn, dry skin and chapped lips.
Hair fall treatment
These seeds are rich in protein and iron. Therefore, hair fall can be treated by its consumption.
Caution
- Pregnant women should not eat these seeds. This increases the risk of miscarriage.
- Garden cress seeds should not be eaten by thyroid patients, because they contain goitrogens (goitrogens are an element that causes swelling in the thyroid gland).
- These are diuretics. Therefore, people suffering from frequent urination should not eat them.
How to eat seeds
- Grind the seeds and add some black salt. Then add it to the salad and eat it.
- Soak one spoon of seeds in water. Drink it by mixing it in juice or a smoothie.
- You can also make laddus and eat them.
- Eat the seed paste by mixing it in paratha.
