Warm water benefits: Water helps with everything from digestion, blood pressure control, weight management, and higher energy levels to skin and hair health. Many parts of our body can be improved by drinking enough water. Water is seen in Ayurveda as Jeevan (life-giving), Tarpan (satisfying), and Amritopam (similar to nectar). Based on our current needs, Ayurveda also advises on how hot the water should be and how much water we should drink every day. Hot water can sometimes be more beneficial than room temperature and vice versa.

Ayurveda expert Dr. Rekha Radhamoni recently shared a post on Instagram, which talks about the preferred water for various occasions. It has been told in Ayurveda when to drink hot or room temperature water. Let us first know when to drink water equal to room temperature.

If you are tired or feeling dizzy

If you are very thirsty

If you've been out in the sun

If you have a bleeding disorder

If you have food poisoning

When one is extremely thirsty or suffering from diseases like food poisoning, it is better to drink room-temperature water instead of hot water. According to Ayurveda, room-temperature water is boiled water that has been cooled to room temperature.

When should you drink hot water?

If you have a loss of appetite

If you have less digestible fiber in your body

If you have a sore throat

If you have a fever, cough, cold

If you have pimples

if you have to bloat

According to Ayurveda, drinking hot water can cure the symptoms of Kapha dosha and reduce the desire to eat. Apart from this, it helps in improving digestion and providing relief from colds and coughs.
