A study claimed that many juices also contain elements like arsenic and lead, which can have many serious side effects. The study tested 24 such brands. Many of them had high levels of lead. These metals can cause neurodevelopmental problems in children.

Regarding this, the FDA has issued a new guideline regarding the amount of arsenic in apple juice.

Strictness regarding arsenic compounds
To reduce the risk of arsenic being an environmental contaminant, US federal regulators have issued guidelines on how much inorganic arsenic can be present in apple juice. According to this, it can be one-tenth per billion. This can be further reduced over time.

Organic arsenic appears in fish and shellfish and is not harmful to human health, although inorganic arsenic occurs in soil, sediment, and groundwater.

Apples, pears, and grapes naturally absorb some amount of arsenic that occurs naturally in the soil or is used for pesticides. However, if you mix juices made with arsenic-concentrated water from concentrates, they may contain more arsenic. These elements are harmful to the body.

What do researchers say about the use of juice?


The researchers believe that the one-year shelf life of packaged juices is positive. However, if you have availability then only fresh fruit juice should be consumed.
Juices that are packaged and contain patulin are probably made from lower-quality fruits.
