Hartalika Teej festival is celebrated on the Tritiya of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. On Hartalika Teej, worship is done including Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva and his family. During this, women observe Nirjala fast. This fast is as difficult as Karva Chauth and Chhath Puja. On the day of Hartalika Teej, women do not consume food as well as water.
Nirjala fast can cause health problems. In such a situation, women should keep some things in mind before observing Nirjala fast on the occasion of Hartalika Teej so that there is no health problem during the festival.
Keep fast by drinking curd or coconut water
Consume curd or drink coconut water before fasting. Coconut water fulfills the lack of water in the body and eating curd does not make one feel more thirsty. By consuming curd or coconut water before waterless fasting, you will not feel thirsty during the fast.
Avoid sunlight
Due to humid heat and sunlight, the body starts lacking water and feels very thirsty. During fasting, you control your thirst, but the body feels the need for water, which if not fulfilled can lead to problems like dizziness, headache etc. To avoid this, try to avoid sunlight and heat so that you do not feel too thirsty and the body sweats less and feels less need of water.
Avoid fatigue
Fatigue is felt due to physical activity. The body demands water to reduce fatigue. If you cannot drink water during fasting, then keep physical activity low. Do not do too much hard work or tiring work. Take rest so that the body remains energetic and feels less thirsty.
Take a bath
If you feel thirsty or feel hot and tired during fasting, then you can take a bath with slightly cold water. Bathing cools the body and thirst is reduced.
