On this day, women worship Mother Parvati and Shivling by making clay or sand. In worship, after collecting all the ingredients of Suhaag, and decorating it on a plate, they offer it to Mother Parvati wishing unbroken good fortune and listening to the story of Teej Mata. After the puja, these idols are immersed in a river or a holy body of water. Along with this, there is a tradition of worshiping trees, green crops, Varunadev, and animals and birds on this day.
