From hairstyle to hair colour, the work of enhancing the beauty of hair is done. The craze for hair colouring has increased a lot, but the problem associated with this treatment is that the hair colour starts fading quickly. The reason for this is not taking proper care of the hair after colouring.

Celebrity Dermatologist Dr Chitra Anand shares skin and hair-related information on social media. In one of his posts, he explained how to take care of hair after hair colouring.

Apply sulfate-free products

Sulfate products are very harmful to hair. By using these, the hair not only starts getting spoiled but the hair also starts turning white. Sulfate lightens hair colour. That's why especially when you have got hair colour done in your hair, then you should use sulfate-free products. This will protect the colour in your hair from fading, which will make your colour last longer.

Colour safe shampoo

The hair looks very beautiful with the hair colour. After colouring the overall look also changes. To keep the colour in the hair for a long time, you should use colour-safe shampoo and conditioner for the hair. These products help protect and nourish your hair. Not only this, hair looks vibrant by using them. You will easily find colour-safe products in the market.

Use dry shampoo

Frequent hair washing is okay, but don't do it when you have coloured your hair. The colour starts getting lighter by repeated hair washing. The natural oil present in the hair is also stripped away. In this case, you should use dry shampoo. This shampoo absorbs excessive oil and leaves hair looking great without the use of water.

UV protection is a must

The harmful rays of the sun are not only harmful to the skin but also to the hair. If you have done hair colour and you want this treatment to last for a long time, then for this you should protect your hair from UV rays. Due to sun exposure, the colour fades as well as the hair becomes dry. You should use UV protection hair spray and serum in your hair. When you go out, cover your hair with a hat and scarf. With these methods, the hair colouring treatment lasts for a long time.

Say no to heat styling tools

Heat tools are used for hair styling. Using these, you can give your hair the look you want. But, if you have coloured hair, then you should stay away from these tools. Due to the use of these tools, not only the colour of the hair gets faded, but the hair starts getting dry and damaged. You should use a heat protection spray or serum before using these tools to protect your hair from heat damage. If you want, you can also apply aloe vera gel.
