Google is now working on a Google One Lite plan which is a new subscription tier of its cloud storage bundle service. Some users in India have spotted this plan. This new subscription tier is cheaper than the Basic tier, which was previously the cheapest entry point to a Google One subscription. This subscription plan only offers free cloud storage and there are no other benefits. Earlier it was rumored that Google was working on this new tier and now it is being said that it is being rolled out in many regions.
According to the report, this offer is available on some devices, while it is not visible on some other devices, due to which it is believed that this feature is being rolled out selectively to some users. It is also possible that Google is rolling it out as a test for the time being.
To see this plan, users will have to download and install the Google One app. The Google One Lite plan will appear at the top of the screen on the upgrade page. This plan is named 'Lite' and can be seen in both monthly and yearly options.
The Google One Lite plan is offering 30GB of cloud storage for Rs 59 per month. The annual subscription can be purchased for Rs 589. Some users have also seen special deals for the first month's subscription. According to the report, Google has offered Rs 15 per month for the first two months after which the price will be Rs 59.
This subscription tier only offers cloud storage and there are no additional benefits. For example, the basic plan, which costs Rs 130 per month, includes 100GB of cloud storage along with storage sharing with up to five people.
