Ginger is an important part of our kitchen, through it, the taste of food becomes better. Ginger is no less than an Ayurvedic medicine, it can be used to get relief from many types of diseases because it has the power to boost immunity. You must have often noticed that people drink ginger tea to get relief from colds, cough, and flu. Ayushi Yadav, former dietitian of GIMS Hospital, Greater Noida, said that no matter how many benefits ginger has, if you eat it excessively then you may have to suffer many types of disadvantages.
Disadvantages of eating too much ginger
1. Gastrointestinal Distress
Consuming excess ginger can cause stomach problems, including heartburn, gas, and diarrhea. The spicy nature of ginger can harm the gastrointestinal tract.
2. Blood Thinning
Ginger contains compounds that have blood-thinning properties. Consuming it in excessive amounts can increase the risk of bleeding. Eating ginger is not good for people who are already taking blood thinner medicine.
3. Low Blood Pressure
People who eat excessive ginger may suffer from low blood pressure, which makes the person weak and may cause fainting or dizziness.
4. Allergic Reactions
Many people are sensitive to ginger and if they eat too much of it, they may have allergic reactions including skin rashes, itching, and difficulty breathing.
5. Heartburn
Spicy properties are found in ginger, which is why if it is eaten beyond a limit, there may be a complaint of heartburn or acid reflux.
