This diabetes can occur from the sixth month to the seventh month of pregnancy. This disease is detected through the oral glucose tolerant test.

Fasting blood sugar level should be less than 92 mg/dl. If it is more then the diagnosis of gestational diabetes is needed.
After one hour the sugar level should be up to 180 mg/dl, if it is more than that then treatment for gestational diabetes is needed.
If the glucose solution is more than 153 mg/dl after two hours, then there will be a diagnosis of gestational diabetes.
