The countrymen are paying tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. Gandhiji had led the freedom struggle to gain independence for the country. He did not resort to any kind of violence to break the chains of slavery of the British but achieved victory by following the path of truth and non-violence. People in India and abroad still follow this principle of his.

People remember Bapu when non-violence is mentioned. Mahatma Gandhi is an inspiration for everyone. His entire life was a symbol of ideals and inspiration. However, many people supported Bapu in becoming a Mahatma. Everyone from Jawahar Lal Nehru to Sardar Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose to Bhagat Singh respected him. His wife Kasturba Gandhi always followed in his footsteps.

Kasturba Gandhi
Kasturba Gandhi was the wife of Mahatma Gandhi and was one of the sources of inspiration for Gandhiji in his freedom struggle. Kasturba ji was called Ba. He participated in the freedom struggle and administered his ashrams with Gandhiji.

Sarojini Naidu
Sarojini Naidu was a prominent woman leader of the Indian freedom struggle and an associate of Gandhiji. She was also Gandhiji's advisor regarding the idea of partition.

Meera ben
Meera Ben is a foreign woman who was greatly inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and left her home and came to India. He worked with Gandhiji in many important aspects of the freedom struggle, such as the Khadi Satyagraha and Bardoli Satyagraha.

Dr Sushila Nayyar
Dr. Sushila Nayyar, the sister of Mahatma Gandhi's secretary Pyarelal Punjabi, was influenced by Gandhiji. After completing her medical studies, Sushila became Gandhiji's doctor. Sushila Kasturba was arrested in Mumbai along with Gandhi during the Quit India Movement.

Abha Gandhi
Abha Gandhi, wife of Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson Kanu Gandhi, used to often sing bhajans in Bapu's prayer meetings. She always stayed with Gandhiji and supported him in the movement. Even when Nathuram Godse shot Gandhiji, Abha was present there.
