History of Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga Park came into existence in the year 1904 due to Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India. Earlier this place was famous only for rhinos, but when Lord Curzon and his wife Mary came here, they could not find a single rhinoceros. In such a situation, both of them thought of protecting the species of rhinoceros. With the efforts of both, the Kaziranga Reserve Force was formed on June 1, 1905. At the same time, in the year 1950, its name was changed to Kaziranga National Park. Apart from elephants and rhinos, there are other wild animals in this national park.
