E-Sim means that the trend of the electronic sim is increasing very fast. It is known from its name that these are not in the form of physical SIMs which are fitted in the phone, rather they are in electronic form which is issued separately. Apple's entire iPhone 14 series has been made available in the US only in eSIM. Now Google is also moving forward in this preparation.
Google has gone a step further with the eSIM idea and is working on bringing QR codes for users to transfer eSIM from one device to another.
After the introduction of the new feature that Google is bringing, the e-SIM can be easily transferred to the Android phone. According to the report, with the Google QR code-based eSIM transfer feature, users will be able to scan the QR code and transfer the e-SIM to another phone.
Google had already announced earlier this year that it is working on an eSIM transfer feature that will allow users to transfer eSIM from one device to another.
How does eSim transfer work now?
Currently, there is no easy way to transfer eSIM between two devices, and users are left with only one option. At present, users deactivate the eSIM from one device and then have the option to activate it again on another device.
The thing to note is that it requires telecom service provider support. It is believed that the QR code feature can be introduced with Google's upcoming major software update Android 14.
