Diwali is the biggest festival in the Hindu calendar. This is that time of the year when the twinkling lights all around make the mind happy. You also remain excited after seeing the joy of children all around the house. Lights, rangoli, sparklers and various dishes complete this festival, but in the meantime it is important that you also take care of everyone's safety. Make sure everyone enjoys this celebration wholeheartedly and safely.

Safety doesn't just mean being careful around lamps and firecrackers. Apart from this, there are also such things which you should take special care of. In this article, let us know how all security arrangements should be made during Diwali and what things should be kept in mind.

Avoid wearing synthetic clothes

Who doesn't like to dress up on an occasion like Diwali? Now when there are Diwali parties, people dress up according to the theme. But pay a lot of attention to the fabric of your clothes during Diwali. Avoid wearing clothes made of synthetics, as these can easily catch fire. Instead, wear cotton clothes which are loose and comfortable.

Take care of your pets

Just a few days ago, news came that a horse had a heart attack due to the sound of firecrackers and died. Diwali is a festival when animals get scared by the sound of firecrackers. They get confused between pollution and noise. Therefore, keep your pets in that part of the house which is safe from external noise. Even if you see an animal scared outside the house, help it.

Try to stay away from noise

Noise and smoke levels skyrocket during Diwali. Even if you are not bursting crackers, people in the neighbourhood still do. If there are elders and small children in your house, try to keep them away from noise. Keep the windows and doors of your house closed so that smoke from outside will not come into the house.

Be careful while burning crackers

Crackers are a big part of Diwali celebrations. Children especially wait for firecrackers during Diwali. But it becomes necessary to be careful with children. Do not bring such firecrackers which make a very loud noise. Allow children to burn crackers only under your supervision. Keep in mind that those crackers should be burnt in open places only. Do not burn firecrackers near electric wires or poles.

To avoid any untoward incident, keep a bucket of water around you.

Be careful while lighting lamps

Diwali is the time when our homes sparkle with the glow of beautiful earthen lamps. Decorate your entire house with beautiful lights. But sometimes due to carelessness, lamps can cause a fire. Light any kind of lamp by keeping it away from curtains or clothes. Do not place candles or lamps between electrical wires. Keep children away from lamps, so that they do not accidentally get burnt. Keep the lamps on level ground, so that no untoward incident occurs due to their falling.
