Let us tell you that Dev Diwali is celebrated on the full moon date of Kartik month. Many people know about Choti and Big Diwali but do not know about Dev Diwali, so let us know about these three types of Diwali…

Chhoti Diwali

Every year Chhoti Diwali is celebrated on the Chaturdashi day of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. In many places, it is called Narak Chaturdashi or NarakChaudas. On this day a demon named Narakasura was killed. He freed sixteen thousand women from the captivity of this demon and also freed the world of gods from the possession of the demon. In this happiness, the festival of Narak Chaturdashi is celebrated. The gods and the liberated women were very happy on this day, so they celebrated the festival by lighting lamps. Apart from this, by lighting a lamp in the name of Yama on this day, a person gets freedom from going to hell after death.

Big Diwali

The festival of Badi Diwali is celebrated on the Amavasya date of Kartik month. On this day, Goddess Lakshmi, Ganesh and Saraswati are worshipped at night. Also, Mother Kali is worshipped in Bengal. In many places, it is believed that on this day Goddess Lakshmi comes to earth and lamps are lit to welcome her. Regarding Diwali or Big Diwali, there is also a belief that on this day Lord Shri Ram came to Ayodhya from Lanka. This festival is celebrated with great pomp throughout the country.

Dev Diwali

Dev Diwali is celebrated on the full moon day of Kartik month. On this day, Lord Shiva freed the gods from the fear of demons by killing the demon named Tripurasura. Tripurasura had captured the heaven by fighting with the gods, after which the gods go to Lord Shiva for their protection and Lord Shiva kills the demon and hands over the heaven to the gods again. In this joy, the gods take a bath on the banks of the Ganga, light lamps and celebrate the killing of the demon. Since then, on the day of Kartik Purnima, lamps have been donated on the banks of the river. On this day, it is prescribed to worship Lord Vishnu, Tulsi, Mata Lakshmi, Lord Shiva and Parvati.
