History of the temple
According to beliefs, this temple has also been mentioned in Ramayana. It is said that this is the same place where Jatayu fell after getting injured. When Mother Sita was kidnapped by Ravana, Jatayu went after her to save her, and then Ravana injured Jatayu by cutting off his wing.
Jatayu had fallen at this place. In this temple, you will also see a big eagle statue; people come from far and wide to see it.
Unique Shivling in the temple
Apart from this, you will get to see a unique Shivalinga here in the temple. This Shivalinga has been established in the rear part of the main temple. The special thing about Shivalinga is that it is built under a giant snake.
This temple is also known as the 'Hanging Pillar Temple'. Although there are a total of 70 pillars in this temple, one of these pillars is not connected to the ground. It mysteriously hangs in the air.
