Most of us do not eat our food without drinking water. While it is okay to have a few sips in between meals, it is not a good idea to drink too much water during or after meals. It has been proved in many studies that one should not drink water till 30 minutes after having food. In an interview, MasterChef India judge and popular chef Ranveer Brar talked about the schedule of drinking water according to Ayurveda. Ranveer said that it is written in Ayurveda that water before meals is nectar, water with meals is bliss, water immediately after meals is poison, and water after an hour of meals is force. He further said that water should not be drunk immediately after eating food. Due to this, your food does not get digested properly and has a bad effect on the digestive system. Due to this, you may also have a gas problem.
After how long to drink water after eating food?
If possible, drink water for half an hour before eating food. This will reduce hunger and you will avoid overeating. At the same time, it is okay to drink water after half an hour of eating food.
Basic rules of drinking water
1. Drink water first thing in the morning, which is called Ushapan in Ayurveda. To stay healthy one should drink hot water or copper water. This habit will give you incredible benefits.
2. Do not drink water immediately after eating food. By doing this, the food gets digested slowly, metabolism gets affected and the digestive fire will reduce.
3. Always drink water while sitting, do not drink water quickly or while standing. Do not drink water quickly, rather drink water sip by sip.
4. Do not keep water in a plastic bottle. There are microparticles present in plastic, which can increase the risk of cancer, along with this there is a risk of hormonal imbalance and other diseases.
