Recipe
- First of all, take urad dal, wash it and soak it overnight.
In the morning, prepare a paste by adding a little water to the pulses with the help of a mixer. The batter should be thick enough to make vada easily.
After this, beat the batter well. Now add baking powder and salt and beat again.
To check whether the batter is ready for making vada or not, slowly pour the batter into the glass of water. If the batter starts flowing from the top then it is ready.
- Now put oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame.
Now make a big lemon-sized ball from the batter with the help of your palms.
- After this, wet your hands and press the ball from above with wet fingers and make it flat. Drop it gently into the hot oil.
Fry the vadas on a medium flame for some time, then reduce the flame and fry them on low flame till they become golden brown.
Now put the fried vadas in a big bowl filled with water and keep them soaked for 15 to 20 minutes.
Then take it out and press it between your palms to remove excess oil and water.
- After this keep them aside. Prepare all the batter vadas in the same manner.
Now take curd and strain it through a sieve so that there are no bubbles in it.
- Add sugar and salt to the curd and beat it well.
Now to make Dahi Vada Masala, first dry roast the cumin seeds.
- When it turns brown and starts smelling, stop baking and prepare a powder by grinding the cumin seeds with the help of a mixer.
Now finely chop green chillies and coriander leaves. Chop ginger finely.
- Before serving Dahi Vada, pour the curd mixture in it completely and cover it.
After this, sprinkle chaat masala powder, red chili powder, and cumin powder on top. Serve dahi vada with tamarind chutney on top.
