7th Pay commission's latest news today: The news that the central employees and pensioners were waiting for has finally come to the fore. The government has decided to increase Dearness Allowance ie the dearness allowance by 4 per cent. After this increase, central employees will get a 42 percent dearness allowance instead of 38. A meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs was held today under the chairmanship of PM Modi, in which work was done to seal the increase in DA.
DA is revised twice a year
Dearness Allowance is revised twice a year. DA is reviewed every six months and is usually increased. The 4 percent increase in DA will be implemented from January 1, 2023. This means the arrears of January, and February and the benefit of a hike in March will be available with this month's salary.
Pensioners also got the benefit of a 4% DR hike
Apart from central employees, the benefit of an increase in dearness allowance will also be given to central pensioners. Pensioners get this as DR ie Dearness Relief. The cabinet committee has also decided to increase the dearness relief for pensioners. Pensioners will also now get the benefit of a 42 per cent dearness allowance instead of 38. For these also it will be applicable from January 1, 2023. The pension which will come in March will get the benefit of arrears for January and February.
