In such a situation, after removing the cloth, you will see on the cylinder that some part of it has dried. At the same time, some parts are wet. What happens in this is that where the cylinder is empty, water gets sucked out. Whereas, where there is gas it remains wet. In such a situation, you can know how much gas is still left.
Avoid doing this
When people are unable to know how much gas is left in the cylinder, they guess by looking at the flame. Especially in winter, the flame turns red, but this does not mean that the gas has run out. It may be possible that the gas is in the cylinder.
