Coronavirus has been causing serious health risks for more than three years. In the case of infection with variants like Delta, not only has there been a risk of developing serious diseases, but long Covid is also raising concerns among health experts. The risk of Corona is still being seen in many countries of the world.

Due to Omicron and some of its new sub-variants, rapid cases of infection and an increase in the number of hospitalized patients have been reported in many countries including the UK. Considering the infectiousness and nature of the new variants, many companies have also started updating the vaccine.

Scientists say that due to Corona, there is not only a risk of serious disease during the infection but also many types of health problems are being seen in the patients during Long Covid. In a recent study conducted in this regard, a team of scientists said that although the virus has seriously affected many organs, its most serious impact is being seen on heart health. Cases of death due to heart disease have also increased significantly among Coronavirus-infected people.

Risk of heart disease in youth
According to a recent study conducted to find out the side effects of Corona, during the first two years of the pandemic, from March 2020 to March 2022, there were more than 90,000 deaths due to heart disease in the United States. A serious matter has been that there has been an increase in cases of cardiovascular diseases and deaths due to this even among young adults who have been infected.

The highest number of deaths due to heart attacks during the pandemic period has been seen in people aged 25 to 44 years. Apart from the complications that occur during severe cases of COVID-19 infection, the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other problems is seen to be increased up to a year after infection.

The problem of inflammation increased due to infection
Dr. Luke Laffin, a cardiologist and co-director of the Center for Blood Pressure Disorders at the Cleveland Clinic, explains that a large association between coronaviruses and heart diseases has been observed, with increased inflammation being the main reason. We know that inflammation increases cardiovascular risks. Earlier studies have also emphasized that infectious diseases, especially severe cases of Covid-19, can cause inflammation.

The risk of serious diseases is increasing due to blood clotting
Researchers explain, that in case of any infection or injury, the immune system releases proteins in response that promote inflammation and blood clotting. In some cases, it can cause clotting, heart attack, or stroke. Experts say people who already have problems with plaque in their arteries, such as smokers and people with high blood pressure and cholesterol, may have a higher risk of developing serious heart disease due to COVID-19.

Even people with mild symptoms are becoming victims
In the study, researchers reported that about 21 percent of people who were hospitalized due to COVID-19 infection and about 11 percent of people who had a mild infection and were not even hospitalized, developed the problem of high blood pressure.

Research has shown that in people who had corona vaccination, the risk of heart attack or stroke after COVID-19 infection was seen to be about 40 to 60 percent less. Vaccines reduce the severity of Covid. Health experts have advised that people who have had coronavirus infection should get their heart health checked as a precautionary measure.
