What does the Health Minister of Delhi say?
Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said on Monday that three to four COVID-19 cases are being reported every day in the national capital, the situation here is currently under control. Hospitals have been alerted to fight against the virus.
The Health Minister said, there was a meeting with the Center on the Covid-19 situation and we were told that cases are increasing more in southern states like Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Testing has been increased in Delhi as a precaution, seeing an average of three to four cases every day. We have conducted mock drills and all necessary arrangements have also been made.
How is the situation in hospitals?
To know whether Corona patients are being admitted to hospitals, we talked to Dr. Arvind Pandey of Intensive Care in a private hospital in Delhi-NCR. Doctors say, at present the situation of Corona in Delhi-NCR is quite controlled. Infected cases have been confirmed in some places, but there is no news of an increase in cases. Most people are recovering by staying at home.
The nature of the JN.1 variant is not a serious pathogen, hence the possibility of increasing crowds in hospitals is also less. However, people who already have comorbidities, such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or HIV, may be at risk in case of infection.
Caution is necessary otherwise the situation may worsen
Doctors say, even though Corona is under control now, it is the holiday season. People will gather to celebrate Christmas and New Year. On the other hand, the nature of the new variant is seen to be infectious and to dodge the immunity built in the body. In such a situation, if even one person gets infected in the parties, then there can be a danger of increasing the spread of the infection. Therefore it is important to take precautions.
You should avoid going to crowded places these days, and start wearing a mask again. Corona may not be dangerous but its infectiousness is definitely high, hence it is very important to remain alert.

Doctors say cases of infection are being registered even among people who have been vaccinated across the world.
