The corona pandemic, which started worldwide from the last month of 2019, is still going on. Studies show that the virus is constantly mutating, which poses a risk of new variants. Vaccination and corona prevention measures have definitely reduced the risks of infection, although health experts advise all people to keep taking precautions.
Recently, vaccine manufacturer AstraZeneca admitted that vaccination may cause the risk of blood clots and heart attacks in rare cases. Since then, various questions are being raised about the effectiveness of vaccines.
In a recent study report related to this, scientists have shared important information. In a research published in the peer-reviewed journal BMJ Public Health, researchers reported that deaths have increased since the pandemic due to Covid-19 vaccines. This report, prepared on the basis of death data in 47 Western countries, said that despite extensive measures to prevent corona infection, there has been an increase in mortality globally since the year 2020.
Increased death cases due to Covid-19 vaccines
The study report states that there has been a jump in death cases in the United States and other Western countries due to the side effects of the vaccine. According to the New York Post report, scientists at Vrije University in the Netherlands found that cases of serious health problems and additional deaths were seen after vaccination in both medical professionals and citizens.
In the study report, the researchers wrote, Kovid-19 vaccines are beneficial in reducing the severity of the disease caused by coronavirus, although adverse events have also been seen due to it.
Increased excess mortality in many countries
According to the study report, since the year 2020, more than 3 million (30 lakh) additional deaths have occurred in America, Europe and Australia alone. These figures remained high in the following years as well. 1.2 million (12 lakh) people died in the year 2021 and 8 lakh people died in 2022. Researchers said, the mortality figures can be linked to the virus both directly and indirectly. Serious side effects of vaccines have also been detected in many people, due to which problems like ischemic stroke, acute coronary syndrome and bleeding in the brain have been seen. Researchers said, more detailed study is still needed on this report.
It is not clear in this report whether the side effects are related to a particular vaccine or all.
Effect of vaccines in pregnancy
How can vaccines affect health? In this study, scientists have given information about the safety of Covid-19 vaccination during pregnancy. Researchers from Yale University and 11 other institutions found that there is no risk of getting vaccinated during pregnancy. Earlier in some reports it was being said that this could cause a risk of death in children at birth, although the researchers said that no evidence has been found.
It is safe to get vaccinated
The study, published in the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology, extracted data on babies who died at birth from February 2021 to February 2022. Researchers conducted research at several levels and found that these deaths were not directly or indirectly related to vaccines. The study, led by Dr. Anna DeNoble of Yale School of Medicine, was aimed at reassuring pregnant women that it is safe to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
While vaccination does not affect pregnancy, the researchers also stressed that vaccination is still the best way to prevent serious illness caused by the infection and is safe to take during pregnancy.
