Ingredients for making sesame laddus
- 1 cup white sesame seeds
- 1 cup jaggery (cut into pieces)
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp ghee
Method of preparation
- Heat ghee in a pan and fry sesame seeds on medium flame. Fry the sesame seeds until their color turns light golden and the aroma starts emanating.
- Take out the roasted sesame seeds in a plate and let it cool down a little.
- Add jaggery in the same pan and melt it on low flame. Make sure that the jaggery does not burn.
- After the jaggery melts completely, add sesame, coconut and cardamom powder to it. Mix well and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
- After the mixture becomes slightly thick, turn off the gas.
- Let the mixture cool down a bit and then make small round laddus.
- These delicious sesame laddus are ready! You can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 weeks.
Some important tips
- If you want, you can also add dry fruits like almonds, cashews or raisins to sesame laddus.
- If you find the laddus a little dry, you can add a little milk.
- If the laddus are too sticky, you can keep them in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
