In this era of superfast internet and deepfakes, identifying anything is very difficult. From mobile apps to fake profiles of people, everything is being made fake. The App Store is full of fake apps. The government has geared up to avoid this. Now there will be special labeling on government apps that will identify them.

For this, there has been a partnership between the government and Google under which Google has introduced a new feature. With the help of this feature, it will be easy to identify whether an app is official or not. Google will put a label on government apps and apart from this the description will also be in detail.

After the new update, there will be a government baggage with all the government apps. On tapping on this baggage “Play verified this app is affiliated with a government entity” i.e. Play confirms that this app is affiliated with the government.

In such a situation, it will be easy for users to identify fake and genuine government apps. Let us tell you that cases of voice cloning have increased rapidly in the last few months. Many such apps have names similar to the names of government apps.

Google has said that packages of government apps have been installed on about 2,000 apps from countries like Australia, Japan, Canada, Brazil, India, Britain, and America. In India, this baggage can be seen on Digilocker, mAdhaar, NextGen mParivahan, and Voter Helpline apps.
