The Congress party released the election manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Friday (April 5). The program was organized at the All India Congress Committee headquarters in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. Many promises have also been made in the election promises to improve the health sector and improve the health of the common people.

It is said in the manifesto issued that we are committed to improving the health sector. We promise that health care will be universal and free in public health centers such as hospitals, clinics, primary health centers, mobile healthcare units, dispensaries, and health camps. The party president said that the general public will get special benefits from free health services and the additional pressure on people regarding health will also reduce.

Important points of the manifesto presented on Friday-

Health care will be universal and free in public health centers – hospitals, clinics, primary health centers, mobile healthcare units, dispensaries, and health camps. Free health care will include investigation, diagnosis, treatment, surgery, medicines, rehabilitation, and palliative care.
Rajasthan model of cashless insurance up to Rs 25 lakh will be adopted for health care.
Primary Health Centers (PHC) will be upgraded as per Indian Public Health Standard norms. Diagnostics will also be included in each PHC.

Violence against doctors will be stopped
It has been said in the manifesto that strict action will be taken to stop violence against doctors. Congress said that a law will be passed to criminalize violence against doctors while performing their duties so that such incidents can be stopped from happening every year.
