Myth 1- Drinking less water is the reason behind dry skin

Truth- Often people think that they drink less water and hence their skin is dry. While dry and dehydrated skin is different. Dry skin occurs when there is a lack of natural oils in the skin.

On the other hand, dehydrated skin is one in which there has been excessive loss of water due to internal and external factors. It is a condition that gets better with time. While dry skin is a skin type. Those who have dry skin, even if they drink enough water, their skin remains dry.

Myth 2- Skin does not remain dry by applying more products

Truth- Those who have dry skin, also believe that if they apply more products to their skin, then it does not keep their skin dry. It is possible that considering this to be true, you use extra serum or moisturizer on your skin. But in reality, you just waste your product.

Keep in mind that the skin absorbs only a certain amount of the product. Also, the number of products you use and the order in which you apply them is equally important.

Myth 3- Facial scrub makes the skin dry

Truth- Many people also believe that if they use a facial scrub, it damages the protective layer of their skin and increases the dryness of the skin. But using a gentle facial scrub cleans the dead skin cells present on your skin. Due to this the product you use is better absorbed in the skin. However, keep in mind that you should not use facial scrub more than once a week.

Myth 4- Dry skin just needs oil

Truth- Dry skin indeed lacks natural oils and hence most people think that adding oil to the skincare routine will cure the skin. However, facial oil alone cannot improve your skin health and appearance. Use a moisturizer in the morning and a facial oil at night to ensure that your skin is adequately hydrated and nourished.
