Due to cold in winter, many people reduce drinking water. The reason for this is that one feels less thirsty in the cold. But, it is important to understand that even in winter the body needs as much water as it does in summer. Lack of water can cause harm to health in many ways.

When there is a shortage of water in the body, the cells send signals to the brain, due to which the kidneys receive a message to remove less water from the blood. For this reason, urine becomes less, thick and dark in color. Kidneys need enough fluids to filter the blood. In such a situation, lack of water increases the toxic elements in the body, which affects the functionality of all the organs and the electrolyte balance of the body can also deteriorate.

Weak immunity
The main causes of infection are bacteria or viruses. But, due to lack of water, the body's immunity to fight diseases becomes weak, due to which the risk of contracting infections like throat and UTI increases. In such a situation, symptoms of sore throat, cough, and fever appear.

What happens if you drink what kind of water in winter?
Cold water

Drinking cold water in winter can harm the digestive system. Cold water slows down the digestive fire, due to which food is not digested properly. This can cause problems like indigestion, gas, constipation, and acidity. Cold water also increases Kapha dosha. Due to Kapha dosha, mucus accumulates in the nose, throat, and lungs, which can cause difficulty in breathing. Cold water can also cause problems like cold, cough, and sore throat.

Lukewarm water
Lukewarm water is beneficial for the digestive system. It strengthens the digestive fire, due to which food is digested properly. Lukewarm water also helps in relieving constipation. It is best to drink lukewarm water after waking up in the morning on an empty stomach. This provides energy to the body and makes one feel fresh throughout the day.

Hot water
Hot water helps in flushing out toxins from the body. But, if the hot water is too hot or too hot, it can cause constipation. Therefore, never drink too much hot water (more than one cup). Such water is good for those who have weak digestive power and have Kapha dosha. Apart from this, those who have problems related to the nose, throat, and lungs, suffer from obesity or have joint pain should also drink hot water.
