There is a belief about demanding and eating the Prasad of Chhath Puja from each other that by demanding and eating the Prasad of Chhath, the faith of the devotees towards Lord Sun God and ChhathiMaiya is expressed. Asking for Prasad and eating it increases the respect of ChhathiMaiya and Sun God. By asking for Prasad and eating it, the bad qualities of the body are removed and ChhathiMaiya becomes pleased with the devotees and bestows her blessings. If soil is not available, a brick stove is also used. GheeyaBhaat, Rasiyav Roti and Thekua are prepared in the earthen stove. Mango wood is used for lighting the stove.
