Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has shared pictures of Chandrayaan-3's lander. These photos were captured by the Dual-Frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar (DFSAR) instrument of Chandrayaan-2 orbiting the Moon on September 6, 2023. Vikram Lander landed on the lunar surface on August 23 at 6:04 p.m.
The space agency informed in its statement that DFSAR is a major scientific instrument mounted on the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter. It uses microwaves in the L and S bands. This state-of-the-art instrument currently offers the highest-resolution polarimetric images on any planetary mission. DFSAR has been transmitting high-quality data from the lunar surface for the last four years.
NASA also shared the picture of Vikram Lander
Earlier recently, the American space agency NASA also shared a picture of the Chandrayaan-3 lander. This picture was taken on August 27 by its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) orbiting the Moon. ISRO also shared the 3D picture of Vikram Lander on the evening of September 5. The agency had written in its Twitter post, that the real fun of watching it will come from red and cyan colored 3D glasses. This picture was clicked by Pragyan Rover from a distance of 15 meters from the lander.
India is the first country to land on the South Pole of the Moon
Let us tell you that India is the first country to land its lander on the south pole of the Moon. ISRO had successfully landed it on 23 August. However, Russia, America, and China have already landed their vehicles on the North Pole. This success of ISRO in the field of space is being considered a big success.
