There has been a demand for a system for file sharing in Android devices for a long time. At the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2024) in Las Vegas, Google introduced Quick Share, which is Google's new file-sharing system. Google has been providing the Nearby Share feature with its Android OS for almost two years but it is not as fast as Apple's AirDrop.

Google's Quick Share is going to compete with Apple's AirDrop. Through Quick Share, users will be able to share files, photos, videos text, etc. between one device and another. Google has partnered with Samsung for this.

Quick Share support will be available by default on all Android devices and Google Chromebook devices. Google is also talking to computer laptop manufacturers to bring this sharing system to Windows.

How will Quick Share work?
Quick Share will also work like all those file-sharing systems that are being used on a large scale. As soon as you turn on Quick Share, a list of nearby devices will appear. Files can be shared by selecting the device from the list.

The speed of Quick Share will be better than the existing Nearby Share. With Quick Share, users will also get privacy. The update of Quick Share is expected to be released next month i.e. February. Its support will also be available on Google TV.
