You can know about this in the next slides...
What happens?
It is generally seen that when someone in the family passes away, the family members withdraw money from his ATM. But you need to know that according to the rules, doing so is illegal. Even the nominee cannot withdraw money from the account without informing the bank. If you are caught doing this, you may even be punished.
Know the rules
If someone in your family has passed away and you have to withdraw money from his bank account, then it is important to know the rules for this. According to the rules, you can withdraw money only after getting all the property of the deceased person transferred to your name. At the same time, you have to give this information to the bank first.
On the other hand, if the deceased person has a nominee in his bank account, then he also has to give information to the bank. At the same time, in case of more than one nominee, the consent letter has to be shown to the bank, only after which you can withdraw money from the bank account of the deceased person.
If you are a nominee in the bank account of a deceased person, you have to fill out a form that enables you to claim the money deposited in the account. Along with the form, apart from the passbook of the deceased, TDR of the account, checkbook, and death certificate, you also have to attach your Aadhaar and PAN card. Then the bank verifies everything and after the verification is found correct, you can withdraw money from the bank account of the deceased person.
