What is the difference between cardiac arrest and heart attack?
A heart attack occurs when there is a blockage in the arteries that supply blood to the heart tissue of a person. This lack of oxygen supply leads to the death of heart cells and symptoms like chest pain. But in this, the heart usually keeps beating. That is, when blood cannot reach the heart, a heart attack occurs. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart suddenly stops working. In this, the heartbeat stops completely. Breathing stops completely. In case of a heart attack, there is a chance to save life but in case of cardiac arrest, anything can happen.
