Know about ADHD
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder, that is most commonly diagnosed in children. Neuro means nerves and developmental means its development, that is, it is a problem related to the development of nerves.
Health experts say that people suffering from ADHD are diagnosed with many types of problems in the brain, neural networks, and neurotransmitters. It is known as a chronic problem of the brain in which it becomes very difficult for a person to manage emotions, thoughts, and actions.
How to identify it?
It is usually diagnosed in childhood and this problem often persists till adulthood. However, if it is not diagnosed and treated on time, ADHD can cause serious and lifelong complications.
It becomes difficult for people suffering from ADHD to control their behavior, focus on a task for a long time, and control their mood. ADHD can interfere with functioning in at least two areas of life (such as school and home).
Why does ADHD occur?
Even experts do not know much about why ADHD occurs. Studies show that those who have someone in their family already had this problem may be at risk of ADHD in their generation. Apart from this, some environmental conditions or problems in the development of nerves can also be the cause. Smoking or consuming alcohol during pregnancy can also put the child at risk of this problem.
What to do if ADHD occurs?
Health experts say that a timely diagnosis of ADHD can help reduce complications through treatment. There is no specific test for its diagnosis, but doctors can detect it by looking at the symptoms.
This problem is usually treated through medication, skill training, and psychological counseling. Through these measures, the symptoms are managed but they cannot be cured. ADHD also increases the risk of many types of mental health problems, so timely diagnosis and treatment becomes important.
