Macha Paturi is a Bengali dish but you can make it for vegetarians as well by giving a little twist to it. Learn how.
Material :
200 g chhena i.e. paneer, 1 cup fresh coconut paste, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 cup mustard paste, 1/2 cup coriander chutney, 1/2 tsp fennel, 1 tsp peanut powder+ salt+ green chili+ Honey (as per taste), 2 tsp tomato ketchup, 2 cups onion cut lengthwise, 1/2 cup mustard oil, 2-3 tbsp fresh cream, as many banana leaves as needed, 1/4 cup oil
Method :
First heat the oil. Lightly fry onions and green chilies in it. Make a paste of all the spices except cream, oil, onions, and green chilies. Put fried onion and spice paste on a whole 200-gram piece of paneer and let it marinate for half an hour.
Wash the banana leaves and bake them lightly on the gas.
Heat oil in a pan. Put the cheese mixture on a banana leaf, fold it well, and tie it with a thread. Fry well on the gas from both sides. Open the thread and serve hot Chhena Paturi.
