According to Ayurveda, there are some rules regarding food that cure your digestive power. Know what those nine Ayurvedic guidelines are, adopting which can improve your digestion.
Eat only when you are hungry. When your previous meal is completely digested and after that when you feel hungry then only you should eat. Sometimes it seems that we are hungry, but, it is felt even when you are a victim of dehydration. According to the body, eat something only when you are really hungry.
Eat in a quiet and comfortable place. When you eat, sit comfortably and be as calm as possible. Do not use TV, book, phone, or laptop at the time of eating.
Eat in the right quantity. We are all different, have different needs, and have different stomach sizes. At the same time, the metabolism of all people is also different, so food should be taken according to the capacity of your body.
Eat hot food. Eat freshly cooked food. Avoid consuming food taken out directly from the fridge. Digestive power becomes weak by consuming things kept in the fridge. The food consumed protects the fire of the stomach, which helps the digestive enzymes to work efficiently.
Eat quality food. Make sure your food is juicy or slightly oily as this will ease digestion. This will improve the absorption of nutrients. Avoid foods that are too dry.
Do not eat odd foods together. This can cause stomach upset. Some of the incompatible foods are fruits and milk, fish, and milk etc.
While eating, focus your attention on eating. Use all your 5 senses. Listen to the smell of your food, the texture of your plate, the texture of your food, the different tastes, and the sounds you make when you eat.
Don't eat fast. Don't just swallow your food, take time to chew. Chewing is an essential step of digestion.
Eat at a regular time. Nature likes cycles and regularity so you should follow it.
