Indian Railways operates a large number of passenger trains every day to transport passengers from one place to another. If you want, you can also reach your destination through these trains. For this you just have to book the train ticket first. There are many routes where train tickets are not available quickly. At the same time, you can book train tickets from the official website or app of IRCTC sitting at home. But many times when people take children with them, there is a question in their mind that up to what age train tickets are not available for children and for which ones. So let us know what the railway rules say on this. You can learn about this further...
First rule
Indian Railways has made rules regarding everything, one of which is free tickets for children. According to the rules, children between the ages of one to four years do not get any ticket on the train. Even for such children, there is no need for any kind of reservation.
Second rule
According to railway rules, if someone's child's age is between 5 years to 12 years such a child has to travel by train. Then it is necessary to buy tickets for children of these ages. However, if you do not want a seat for a child, then you can buy a half ticket.
Here you should know that these children (children aged 5-12 years) have to sit with their parents or guardians during the journey. In the case of taking half a ticket, children do not get a separate seat.
If your child's age is between 5-12 years and you want to book a berth for them, then you have to buy a full ticket for your child and pay the full fare for it.
