To earn your living and fulfill your needs, you too must be bringing goods from the market. At the same time, you may be asked that when you weigh an item from the shop bring it home, and then check it, it would not be found complete, that is, it would be less by a few grams. So perhaps your answer will be yes. Many shopkeepers do the same and cheat customers by giving less goods. Many people do not say anything to the shopkeeper to avoid an argument, but many people raise questions about this. In such a situation, as a customer, you have some legal rights and you can also complain about the shopkeeper in case of any problem. So let's know about this...

What are the rules?
First of all, as a customer, you should understand well that no shopkeeper can give you anything by underweight, and if anyone does so, then it is a legal offense. You can complain about such a person. Also, know that the weight of the box with sweets is not weighed.

Also know that if a shopkeeper puts a new price sticker on the already printed price, then it is illegal.
Selling goods above the fixed price is also a punishable offense.
If the quantity of petrol and diesel and other things is not found correct, then you can complain to the weights and measures department.

You can contact this department
It becomes important for you to know that there is a Weights and Measures Department in every state. This department keeps checking from time to time to ensure that customers get the right quantity of goods and this is also the responsibility of this department. This department checks the weighing equipment and takes action if anything is found wrong.

You can complain here
You can lodge a written complaint about being underweight under the Standards of Weights and Measures i.e. Enforcement Act 1985.
You can also make your complaint through calls, writing mail, etc. and within 15 days the department will inform you what action has been taken on your complaint.
