Now like iPhone users, Android users can also track their phone even when the phone is switched off. That's because Google has started rolling out its new Find My Device network, which lets Android users track and locate lost devices.

Currently, this update has been made available in the United States and Canada. The company says that soon it will be made available globally. Let us know about it.

Updated Find My Device
The updated Find My Device network helps locate your Android phone with other compatible devices. It works on phones running Android 9 or later.

This is one of the biggest changes from the company, in which the advanced network can help you find your lost Android phone even if it does not have an active internet connection.

How does the feature work?
It works by detecting devices near you using Bluetooth proximity, which is similar to how Apple's 'Find My' network works.

Given the popularity of Android users around the world, Google's network may be more powerful than Apple's.

The company also says that the more devices a lost item has, the easier it will be for you to find it.

Google has claimed that Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro owners can locate their devices even when the phone is turned off.

If you're searching for a device that's nearby, Find My Device will show a visible sign in the Network app as you get closer to it.

The company says that starting in May, Android users will also be able to track things like keys, and wallets tagged with Pebblebee and Chipolo's Bluetooth trackers.

Later this year, Eufy, Jio, Motorola, and other companies will also launch their Bluetooth trackers that will support the new Find My Device network.
