What is the importance of the Amarnath Yatra?
Amarnath Yatra is being done since ancient times for the darshan of Baba Barfani. Please tell that in ancient times the Amarnath cave was called 'Amareshwar'. Along with this, Shaktipeeth of Mother Parvati is also present here, which is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. According to the scriptures, Maa Bhagwati's throat had fallen at this place. It is a religious belief that by having a darshan done with full devotion, the seeker gets happiness and prosperity and opens the door to attain salvation.

In winter, Amarnath Dham is covered with snow, and in the summer season, Swambhu Shivling is seen here. This means that Shivling is formed naturally here and also Lord Ganesha and Mother Parvati can be seen here in the same form. The specialty of Amarnath Dham is that on the full moon day of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month, Baba Barfani appears in his full size and then after that his size starts decreasing.
