AIIMS experts conducted a study to understand this serious problem growing among the youth. In its analysis, the team of researchers found that at least one-third of the country's population (more than 38 percent) may have NAFLD, which is a serious issue.
In the study published in the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hepatology, the team of experts said that this problem is not limited to adults only, this problem is also seen in about 35 percent of children. Significantly, this liver problem can have many serious health side effects, for which people of all ages need to be alert. NAFLD can be a condition affecting a person of any age.
NAFLD is not being recognized on time
The team of health experts said non-alcoholic fatty liver is not being recognized in most people. Often no symptoms are seen in the initial stages of this disease, due to which patients are not aware of their problem. Many reasons can increase the risks of this disease, for which all people need to be constantly careful.
Risk is increasing due to dietary disturbances
According to health experts, one of the main reasons for fatty liver or steatohepatitis can be considered to be disturbances in our diet. The way Western things are increasing in our diet has increased the risks even more. Lack of fruits and vegetables in the diet and sedentary lifestyle habits, especially with increased intake of fast foods, further increase the risk of developing the disease.
This disease is as serious as heart-diabetes
Health experts said these diseases should be taken seriously like diabetes, high blood pressure, and other problems related to metabolism. Unfortunately, at present, we do not have any specific medicine or treatment for fatty liver.
