Many such incidents happened in the Mahabharata, about which many people would not know. We are going to tell you about one such story. When the Pandavas were living in Virat Nagar during the exile, some people wanted to burn Draupadi alive. They also dragged Draupadi to the crematorium. Let's know about this incident.
Pandavas spent their exile in Virat Nagar
According to the Mahabharata, during the 12-year exile, the Pandavas also had to live in exile for 1 year, that is, they had to live there hiding their identity. When the exile began, Yudhishthira and other Pandavas hid their weapons on top of a Shami tree and started living in Virat Nagar in disguise. Draupadi was also living there as a maid of the queen of Virat Nagar. Bhima became a cook during that time. Arjuna became a eunuch and started teaching dance. Nakul started serving horses and Sahadev started serving cows. Yudhishthira became the servant of King Virat.
Kichak had an evil eye on Draupadi
Draupadi became the maid of a queen. The brother-in-law of the same King Virat, Kichak, had an evil eye on Draupadi. One day when Draupadi was alone, he tried to rape Draupadi. When Bhima came to know about it, he called Kichak in solitude and killed him. When other people came to know about Kichak's death, Draupadi said that '5 Gandharvas are my husbands, they have killed Kichak.'
Kichak's brothers wanted to burn Draupadi alive
When Kichak's brothers came to know about Kichak's murder, they started considering Draupadi as the reason for it. They all dragged Draupadi to the crematorium because they wanted to burn her alive with Keechak. When Bhima saw this, he reached the crematorium first. There, Bhima uprooted a huge tree and ran after Keechak's brothers to kill them.
When the king of Virat Nagar got scared of Draupadi
Bheem killed all the brothers of Keechak because they were very powerful. On Bhima's request, Draupadi returned to the palace. When King Virat came to know that all the brothers of Keechak were also killed, he got very scared and asked Draupadi to leave Virat Nagar. On this, Draupadi said that I will stay with you in this palace for only 13 more days. After that my Gandharva husband himself will take me from here. Draupadi said this because at that time only 13 days were left for the Pandavas' exile to end.
