Tips to manage acidity

Headaches caused by acidity can be reduced by making some changes in your lifestyle. Know-

  • Avoid eating spicy, fatty, or heavy food, especially at night.
  • Eliminate any food from the diet that increases acidity and results in a headache.
  • Reduce or stop smoking and alcohol consumption.
  • Eat dinner early, by 7-8 pm, so that there are at least two to three hours between dinner and sleep. This will help reduce acid reflux caused by lying down and ease the headache.
  • Losing extra kilos will also help in removing problems related to acidity and headache.
  • Also, review with your doctor for other medicines that may aggravate the symptoms and take necessary guidance from the doctor as and when required.

Acidity and fatigue

You may find it difficult to sleep when you have acid reflux. You may feel tired due to lack of sleep. Also, acid reflux symptoms tend to get worse when you lie down because it's easier for acid to move back up into the esophagus. People with GERD are more prone to sleep problems.
